Visual Inspection system – Flat Drippers
Visual Inspection system – Flat Drippers
Metzer’s visual inspection system supervises the operation of the drilling unit in flat drip irrigation pipe production. It is designed to monitor and control the positioning of the water outlet holes on flat drip irrigation pipes, ensuring each hole is accurately aligned with the drippers basin.
For every dripper passing through the punching unit, the system captures and analyzes an image in real time to verify correct hole placement within the defined tolerance zone. When a fault is detected, it immediately triggers an alarm to alert the operator. At the same time, the system calculates the hole’s relative position and sends correction data to the drill controller, enabling automatic adjustment in subsequent cycles.
The system saves the last 20 alarm images for review, giving the operator the ability to assess quality and decide whether to scrap the coil—all while maintaining continuous inspection. A 19” LCD touchscreen provides real-time image display, operational data, and intuitive controls for setup, monitoring, and product changeovers. Inspection parameters can be easily configured and saved for different pipe sizes, wall thicknesses, and dripper types.
