How We Made It Happen
Challenge
The durian plantation is located in a hilly terrain where delivering water uniformly is difficult. Additionally, the water source is a canal situated at a lower elevation, creating the challenge of reliably pumping and transporting water uphill to the fields. Integrating full automation for efficient irrigation control across this complex landscape added further complexity to the project.
Resolution
To overcome these challenges, a floating pumping station was installed directly on the canal to ensure a stable water supply and enable pumping uphill. The system includes advanced filtration, comprehensive water piping, and automated hydraulic valves to manage flow precisely. Using four Metzer MZ 302PC flow-regulating micro-sprinklers per tree ensures even water distribution tailored for durian trees, resulting in optimized growth and water efficiency despite the challenging environment.

Delivering 5 pivots systems & infrastructure
In 2022, five centre-pivot irrigation systems were delivered and installed in Ukraine’s Odesa region by Metzer. The turnkey project included full infrastructure development, remote control integration, and complementary drip irrigation in non-covered areas—ensuring maximum field coverage and irrigation efficiency.
