Turnkey Subsurface irrigation Reviving Potato Field with drip irrigation
A 140-hectare potato field in Ukraine’s Kyiv region was brought back into production with the installation of a drip irrigation system following demining efforts. The project combined in-house manufactured components and advanced control technology—laying the groundwork for efficient, reliable crop production in a strategically important area.
How We Made It Happen
Challenge
Following the demining of agricultural land in the Kyiv region, the client faced the urgent task of restoring potato cultivation across 140 hectares. Efficient water use, system durability, and technical reliability were essential to ensure stable yields and reduce operational risks.
Resolution
Metzer installed a complete drip irrigation system using its own Layflat piping and driplines, supported by a diesel pumping station and a newly built mainline. Filtration, flow control, and automation were installed and commissioned as well. The system was delivered turnkey, including on-site staff training—ensuring long-term performance and ease of operation.
