Metzer’s drilling system for flat drippers is designed to deliver precise, high-speed perforation at the exact dripper location—ensuring reliable outlet quality and production efficiency. Engineered for integration into advanced dripline manufacturing lines, the unit is built on a rigid stainless-steel frame for stability, durability, and easy maintenance access.
The system features a pneumatically controlled pipe guidance and flattening unit, which stabilizes the pipe for accurate drilling and opens easily during start-up or setup. A dedicated sensor detects each dripper with exceptional precision, providing consistent timing signals to the drilling mechanism.
A brushless servo motor digitally synchronizes the drilling spindle to match the pipe’s speed and dripper position. The hole is drilled using a high-speed air-turbine spindle fitted with a custom-designed bit, delivering clean, accurate perforations at production speeds.
Drilling position can be adjusted in both X and Y axes through a user-friendly LCD touchscreen, while drilling depth is controlled via a manual hand wheel. All parameters—including spacing, tolerance, and dripper count—can be monitored and adjusted on the fly, without stopping the line.
